Himalaya Caravan Adventure has done it again and will continue to do it time and time again with you in mind; our dedication towards you is the secret of our success. The peak known as Island peak and Imja Tse is by far one of the most popular peak climbs for adventurous trekkers just like you. The winning combination between the Everest base camp trek and the Island peak climb is a widely adored Nepal experience. Imja Tse is known as Island peak because when it is viewed from Dingboche it appears to be an island in a sea of snow and ice.
The Imja Tse peak not only provides one of the most spectacular trekking adventures in Nepal for scenery in the Himalayas of Nepal but is also a very enjoyable climb. The summit of Island peak offers one of the most spectacular and breath taking sights available on this planet and certainly in Nepal; the summit provides a semi-circle view of the surrounding giants in the north, these are Nuptse (7879m), Lhotse (8501m), Lhotse middle peak (8410m) and also Lhotse Shar (8383m). On top of this wondrous perspective, views of Makalu (8475m) can be seen in the east and both Baruntse and Amadablam can be seen in the south. So I am sure you can now imagine our excitement through being able to provide you with the experience of this sheer charm as it will stay with you for a lifetime.
Many mountaineers that tackle Island peak do so to mark the beginning of bigger Himalayan expeditions in Nepal in later years, or sometimes Island peak can even stand for the purpose of acclimatization before heading to bigger mountains of the same trekking journey. Trekking to Kaalapathar or Everest base camp will best serve the needs for acclimatizing before proceeding on the final climb of Island peak.
The normal route for climbing Island Peak is on the South East Flank & South-West Ridge, the base camp is set at Pareshaya Gyab (5,087m), between Imja Tse and the lateral moraine of the Imja Glacier. Proper care should be taken to avoid the possible avalanches in the event of heavy snow fall. For some people reaching the summit from base camp is a day activity. However, most of the climbers prefer alpine style camping at the high camp, which adds joy to the climbing and also helps a safe ascent.
We wish you to have a truly inspirational trekking and peak climbing journey and we are ready to take you under our wing
